On September 17 and 18, 2025, First Lady Melania Trump embarked on a historic second state visit to the United Kingdom, accompanied by President Donald Trump. The visit, filled with grand ceremonies and private meetings, marked a significant milestone in the relationship between the two nations.

The state banquet at Windsor Castle, attended by 160 people, was a highlight of the visit. The festivities involved 120 horses and 1,300 troops - including the largest guard of honor in living memory. President Trump expressed his gratitude, calling the visit 'one of the highest honors of my life.'

During the visit, Melania Trump had the opportunity to interact with the children of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales. She toured Frogmore Cottage with Kate Middleton and was shown how to build 'bug hotels' from cardboard and tubes by a child. The First Lady, known to have a fondness for ladybugs, found this activity particularly delightful.

The royal tour also included a visit to Queen Mary's Dolls' House, considered the largest and most famous miniature home. The house, built between 1921 and 1924, includes works from over 1,500 artists, craftspeople, and manufacturers. The late Queen Elizabeth had previously hosted the Trumps in 2019 during Trump's first administration.

President Trump was scheduled to meet with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers. Topics such as Gaza, the war in Ukraine, and trade were set to be on the agenda. Meanwhile, Prince William held a private meeting with the Trumps alongside Kate Middleton.

Hundreds of staff worked tirelessly to ensure the monarch welcomed the couple in true royal fashion. Among the items viewed at the royal library were Queen Elizabeth's copy of 'Alice in Wonderland' and the King's collection of Beatrix Potter books.

Interestingly, Melania Trump's counterpart, Catherine, Princess of Wales, has three children: Prince George (12 years old), Princess Charlotte (10 years old), and Prince Louis (7 years old). They were publicly seen together with her in August 2025 after her health-related absence, but no public confirmation regarding a cancer diagnosis or its treatment has been found in the sources.

The Prince and Princess of Wales shared a photo of their state banquet look on their Instagram account, offering the world a glimpse into the elegant affair. As the visit drew to a close, President Trump bid farewell to King Charles III at Windsor Castle, marking the end of a memorable state visit.

This visit not only strengthened the bond between the United States and the United Kingdom but also provided a unique opportunity for the two First Ladies to connect and share in the joy of their shared roles as mothers and advocates for children.
