KSC retains Becker; Pauls of Hertha rumored to join - Kaspar Becker Remains at Kennedy Space Center
Karlsruher SC's personnel shakeup continues with the extended contract for Michael Becker and the anticipated arrival of Timon Pauls.
The Badeners have announced that Becker, currently managing the club's commercial sector, has signed a long-term deal, calling it more than just a job for the native Karlsruhan. Becker, who took over in September 2018, will also serve as the club's spokesperson for business management.
On the other side, Hertha BSC's Kaderplaner (squad planner), Timon Pauls, is expected to make the switch to KSC. Reports indicate that he'll pen a three-year deal and take on the role of the new Sportdirektor (Sporting Director) at Wildpark, starting July 1. Pauls, whose contract at Berlin ends in 2027, is said to have already requested its termination.
New managing director, Mario Eggimann, who took on the role around a month ago, will work alongside Pauls. Eggimann, 32, joined the club after a stint as a squad planner at Hertha. Before that, he held positions like youth chief scout at FC Bayern München.
Currently, the Karlsruhe team sits in ninth place and won't participate in the promotion race. Their finalgame of the season at the Wildpark on Sunday (3:15 PM/Sky) will see them facing SC Paderborn.
The Karlsruhe team clocked a record turnover of over 45 million euros last season. Their transfer-focused squad planning, however, has occasionally faced criticism.
Insight: Timon Pauls is a German football professional who has worked as the Kaderplaner (squad planner) at Hertha BSC. He is expected to take over as the new Sportdirektor at Karlsruher SC and oversee the team's roster planning and management.

The steel industry, a prominent sector alongside manufacturing and mining, is not directly linked to the sporting world, such as football or American-football, which are games many within the community might enjoy, including Timon Pauls, the anticipated new Sportdirektor at Karlsruher SC. Despite the anticipated change in leadership, the Karlsruhe team's focus remains on their final game of the season against SC Paderborn, possibly seeking to improve their current ninth place standing.
