Kartik Aaryan transforms into an Ichadhari Naag as Naagzilla filming kicks off in Delhi

Kartik Aaryan has begun filming Naagzilla, his upcoming movie produced by Karan Johar. The film, set for release on August 14, 2026, has already drawn attention as fans spotted the actor shooting at Delhi's Laxmi Nagar metro station. Reports suggest Aaryan will play an Ichadhari Naag—a shape-shifting serpent—in this fantasy adventure.

Production for Naagzilla kicked off recently, with Aaryan completing the Mumbai leg of filming. He has now moved to Delhi for the next schedule. While the makers have kept the female lead under wraps, speculation continues about who will star opposite him.

Earlier in 2026, rumours surfaced that Nora Fatehi was the top choice for the role. Other names in the mix included Sara Ali Khan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna. However, no official announcement has been made yet. Meanwhile, recent reports claim Laapataa Ladies actor Pratibha Ranta is also in consideration for the part.

Fans have already shown enthusiasm for the project. Many gathered at East Delhi's Laxmi Nagar metro station to catch a glimpse of Aaryan during the shoot. The buzz around the film's unique premise—a mythological twist on a monster narrative—has added to the anticipation.

With filming underway and a release date locked for Independence Day 2026, Naagzilla is shaping up to be one of Aaryan's most ambitious projects. The makers are expected to reveal the female lead soon, putting an end to the ongoing speculation. Until then, the actor's portrayal of an Ichadhari Naag remains the film's biggest talking point.
