Karpin unveils Russia’s 30-man squad for Peru and Chile friendlies
Valeri Karpin, the head coach of the Russian national football team, has announced the 30-man squad for the upcoming training camp in November. The team will prepare for two friendly matches against Peru and Chile.
Alexander Golovin, the captain of the Russian national team, will lead the squad in these friendly matches. The midfielder from AS Monaco will don the captain's armband against Peru on November 12 in Saint Petersburg and against Chile on November 15 in Sochi.
The squad includes Stanislav Agkatsev and Aleksandr Chernikov from FC Krasnodar. Both players have been in impressive form this season and have earned their places in the national team. Another notable inclusion is Matvei Safonov, a graduate of the Krasnodar academy who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain. Safonov's performances for his club have caught the eye of Karpin, leading to his selection for the national team.
