Karnataka Opens New Super Speciality Hospital; Aids Farmers, Boosts Green Transport

Karnataka's Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has officially opened a new Super Speciality Hospital at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) campus. This significant step aligns with the state government's commitment to expanding advanced healthcare facilities and reducing social inequalities.

The inauguration comes as part of the government's guarantee schemes, such as Shakti and Gruha Lakshmi, which have empowered the poor and improved access to quality healthcare. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the KLE Society for providing free medical services at BIMS through deputed doctors.

Siddaramaiah reiterated the government's vision to establish one government medical college and super speciality hospital in every district of the state. Currently, 22 such institutions have been started, with plans to extend this to all districts in the near future. The new BIMS Super Speciality Hospital is a significant stride towards this goal. Recruitment of doctors and staff will occur in phases to equip the hospital with a skilled workforce.

In addition to healthcare advancements, the Chief Minister announced compensation for farmers affected by heavy rains. Damaged dry crops will receive Rs 17,000 per hectare, while irrigated crops will get Rs 21,500 per hectare. Furthermore, 100 electric buses are set to hit the roads of Belagavi city, promoting eco-friendly public transport. These initiatives reflect the government's commitment to holistic development and social welfare.
