Karnataka authorities arrest eight individuals in connection with the unsolved killing of notable Hindu activist, Suhas Shetty.

In the turbulent city of Mangaluru, police have rounded up eight suspects in the brutal slaying of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty. The grisly affair sent shockwaves through the already sensitive area, with worries of further unrest.

According to reports, an assortment of special teams were established to capture the murderers, with all the accused being interrogaated and apprehended within the Mangaluru district. The killer's identities were uncovered thanks to conversations caught on video footage.

However, Leader of the Opposition (LoP), R. Ashoka, has leveled some damning allegations. Ashoka insists that a week before the murder, Suhas was warned by police not to carry weapons in his vehicle, and his car was even searched. Ashoka questions why this warning would have found its way to the killers, implying a potential inside job. He also points out that the murder took place uncomfortably close to a police presence, yet no officers rushed to the scene.

Ashoka further claims that the killers had issued a warning stating that Suhas would be eliminated, followed by a celebration of the murder. He concluded by voicing concerns that if law enforcement fails to act, more acts of vengeance could erupt in Mangaluru.

Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje and Mangaluru BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta have appealed to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to transfer the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

A sum of 25 lakh rupees has been promised as compensation to Suhas Shetty's family by the BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra.

Amid the volatile atmosphere, multiple stabbing incidents have been reported across Mangaluru and Udupi districts in the coastal Karnataka region. Home Minister G. Parameshwara is visiting Mangaluru to inspect the situation and address the law and order concerns.

Investigators believe the assailants first rammed a goods vehicle into Suhas' car before a horde of attackers, who had been tailing them in a Swift car, emerged with weapons and emptied them on him.

Rumors have circulated that members of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Karnataka Forum for Dignity were responsible for Suhas' murder, but officials have yet to provide any corroborating evidence.

Although there is no explicit link found between Suhas' murder and the recent lynching of Kerala man Ashraf, both incidents have charged the air in Mangaluru with tension. The police are presently investigating whether there is any connection between the two tragic events.
