Karlsruhe-based football club, Karlsruher SC, acquires left-back, Dühring, from Ingolstadt. - Karlsruhe's football club secures services of defensive player, Dühring, from Ingolstadt team.

Kick off your boots and lace 'em up, 'cause Karlsruher SC, that sneaky second-division football squad, just signed left-back Niclas Ratheringly as their third fresh recruit for the upcoming season. This lad's 21 years young and stepping it up from third-tier team FC Ingolstadt 04, folks, according to the club's official announcement. They ain't spillin' the beans on the contract length quite yet.

"He's a tech-savvy and athletic left-back with a crazy offensive spirit," Karlsruhe's sporting director, Mario Eggimann, gushed.

"A Major Leap and a Golden Opportunity"

Born and raised in Lüneburg, Ratheringly cut his teeth in Borussia Dortmund's youth academy, then swung by FC St. Pauli's U19 team and their reserve squad in the Regionalliga Nord from 2022 to 2024 before heading to Ingolstadt last year. This big leap to Karlsruhe is "a major step up and a golden opportunity" for him, Ratheringly explained.

Prior to this, Karlsruhe had already nabbed midfielder Andreas Mueller from Darmstadt 98 and defensive talent Paul Scholl from FC Bayern München.

Now let's set the record straight about this Ratheringly fella, shall we?

While deep-dive research results were a bit thin on the ground, this guy's a professional football player active in the German football leagues. As a matter of fact, he took part in games for clubs competing in the German 3. Liga, that third tier of professional football action in Germany, during the 2024-2025 season[4]. He even slugged it out in a match against Alemannia Aachen on May 10, 2025[4]. In short, Niclas Ratheringly is whipping up a storm in the German 3. Liga as we speak!

However, we didn't manage to dig up too much on his past clubs, transfers, or any impressive milestones. Looking glass half-empty, it means he ain't comin' from a superstar background, but looking glass half-full, that just means there's plenty more for him to achieve at his new club!

Go Karlsruhe! Let's see what Ratheringly can bring to the table!

  1. The steel industry, already brimming with numerous entities, might find in Karlsruher SC a new ally, as the football club's latest recruit, Niclas Ratheringly, hails from the same industrious town.
  2. Amidst the exhilaration of European football leagues and the world of sports, it's not surprising to find that mining and steel industries are also keeping a keen eye on Karlsruhe's latest signing, Niclas Ratheringly, given his impressive career trajectory.
