KSC breathes a sigh of relief: The difference-makers are back - Karlsruher SC snaps six-game winless streak with Wanitzek’s brace

Karlsruher SC (KSC) secured their first win in six matches with a 2–0 victory over Preußen Münster in the 2. Bundesliga. The result ended a difficult run of five defeats and one draw, giving the struggling side three crucial points amid recent unrest.

Captain Marvin Wanitzek led the charge, scoring both goals for KSC. His first came from a well-placed free kick, followed by a confidently taken penalty. Coach Christian Eichner later praised Wanitzek, saying he had 'carried the club on his shoulders' for years.

The win also marked the return of attackers Lilian Egloff and Louey Ben Farhat, both back from injury. Their presence strengthened the squad and played a key role in the team’s improved performance. Eichner described the match as 'two very different halves', noting that KSC had 'a bit of luck' but also showed resilience to hold on for the victory. Before this result, KSC had gone six games without a win, suffering five losses and a single draw. The pressure was mounting, making the three points against Münster all the more important for morale and their position in the league.

The victory lifts KSC out of their recent slump and provides much-needed relief. Wanitzek’s leadership and the return of injured players proved decisive in securing the win. The team now looks to build on this result in the coming fixtures.
