"Kamchatka Hosts the Milkovsky Marathon of 2025"

On March 22, 2025, the trails of Mil'kovo, Kamchatka Krai, hosted the II stage of the Kamchatka Krai Loppet Cup - "Mil'kovsky Marathon - 2025". The picturesque village nestled in hilly terrain played host to a diverse crowd of athletes, young and old, local and international.
Organized by the village sports complex "Veselaya Gorka", three distances were provided for participants – a 50 km marathon, a 25 km half marathon, and a 12.5 km leisurely run. The courses tested the athletes' mettle as they navigated undulating terrain, with a total height gain of 352 meters.
Refreshment points along the route featured warm beverages, including comote, isotonic drinks, tea, and water, as well as snacks such as dried apricots, pickles, salo, and other tasty provisions.
Under the sunny skies of a cloudless day with temperatures hovering around -3°C to -2°C at the finish line, a grand total of 156 skiers embarked upon their grueling, yet exhilarating journey.
The competition witnessed the participation of participants hailing not just from Mil'kovo and neighboring districts of Kamchatka, but also athletes from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vilyuchinsk, Vladivostok, Moscow, and other far-flung cities.
Among the athletes from the Kamchatka Krai judicial system, standouts included:
- Vladimir Philippovich Gorn and Taras Nikolaevich Loshakov in the 50 km marathon
- Marina Pasekova and Elena Sergievskaya in the 25 km half marathon
- Natalia Panina and Anna Tkachenko in the 12.5 km race
Taras Loshakov stole the show with his impressive performance, placing 4th overall and earning top spot in his age group, even outperforming masters of sport.
The Mil'kovsky Marathon was undoubtedly a testament to the enduring spirit of runners and their unwavering determination in the face of challenges. With each step, participants ventured deeper into the heart of the captivating Kamchatka Peninsula, whispering tales of resolve and camaraderie.
