Former Vice President Kamala Harris has released a tell-all book titled "107 Days", offering a behind-the-scenes look at her brief but historic 2024 presidential campaign. The book, which was the shortest ever after Joe Biden abandoned his reelection campaign, provides an intimate account of Harris' journey in the race for the White House.

In the book, Harris admits that she didn't foresee the capitulation to the current president, suggesting she had been naive. She also shares her perspective on the American political system, stating that she believes it is broken and fragile. This viewpoint, which aligns with her emphasis on empowering people, is a reflection of her experiences during the Trump administration and the recent years.

During an interview on "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert, Harris elaborated on her criticism of the political system. She expressed admiration for public servants but is critical of how politics, government, and institutions have often failed the American people, culminating in a moment of crisis. Harris emphasised the need for change through new methods and fresh thinking while remaining committed to core values and principles but not bound by old ways.

Harris' book also reveals that her husband, Doug Emhoff, "dropped the ball" on her 60th birthday celebration last October. Despite this, Harris remains optimistic about the future, saying that she wants to travel the country, listen to people, and talk with them.

Despite being asked about her earlier warnings regarding Donald Trump's potential actions if he won, Harris did not comment on it during the interview. Instead, she focused on her vision for a more inclusive and effective political system, one that prioritises the needs of the American people over political machinations.

In a move that surprised many, Harris announced she wouldn't run for California governor. Instead, she has chosen to focus on her work outside the "transactional" nature of electoral politics, engaging with the American people and advocating for change from the grassroots level.

As Harris promotes her new book, she continues to offer insights into her political journey and her vision for the future of American politics. "107 Days" provides a unique perspective on a historic campaign and offers a call for systemic reform and a departure from traditional political strategies that were prominent during that era.

  1. Kamala Harris, in her tell-all book "107 Days," also discusses policy-and-legislation issues, outlining her beliefs that the American political system needs reform, citing its broken and fragile state.
  2. As she promotes her book, Harris has delved into the intersection of entertainment and politics, sharing her views on the American political system on popular talk shows, such as "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert, stressing the need for new methods and fresh thinking in policy-making.
