Kadyrov expresses his views on adversaries and internal changes
In a significant development, two Russians, Valeria Egorova and Pavel Korotich, have been convicted of high treason by the Moscow City Court. The couple was found guilty of collecting and passing on intelligence about buildings of the Russian Ministry of Defense, including locations, organizational structures, and security details.
According to a report published by Gazeta.ru, Egorova, a 38-year-old woman from Moscow, was tasked by a representative of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate to gather this sensitive information. She coordinated her actions with her husband, Pavel Korotich, 42, and the two engaged in covert photo and video surveillance from May 2023 to February 2024.
For their actions, Egorova was sentenced to 17 years in prison, while Korotich received a 15-year prison term under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (high treason). Egorova also faced additional convictions related to money laundering and illegal possession of psychotropic substances.
Meanwhile, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic, addressed his Telegram channel subscribers, reflecting on his adversaries and their alleged plans. Kadyrov expressed his belief that his adversaries are plotting, weaving intrigues, and harbouring dreams that he will break down. However, the report did not provide any information about the identity of these adversaries or the plans they are allegedly weaving.
Kadyrov also spoke about his own demeanor, stating that he hasn't laughed in a long time. Instead, he's been waiting, watching, and remembering. He emphasized that he and his surroundings have become composed, silent, and focused.
In a show of resilience, Kadyrov declared, "We can't be broken, because we don't retreat. We're born to stand shoulder to shoulder for our own, for our land, for the truth." He further expressed his confidence about victory, stating, "Our victory is not far off."
The report also mentioned that Kadyrov identified what his opponents find irritating: "There's something in each of us that they can't buy, steal, or invent." He referred to this as honor, loyalty, and memory of their ancestors.
