Kadile's brace ends Servette's winless streak in Swiss Super League
The Swiss Super League saw contrasting fortunes for Winterthur and Servette over the weekend. Winterthur extended their unbeaten streak to two matches but still chase their first watch win in eight games. Meanwhile, Servette ended a run of five straight draws with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over FC Zurich.
The standout performer was Junior Kadile, who netted his first watch two Super League goals to secure all three points for his side.
Winterthur took an early lead against Sion when Andrin Hunziker found the net in just the 5th minute. However, their defensive struggles continued as Winsley Boteli equalised in the 66th minute, marking his fifth goal of the season as a substitute. Despite the draw, Winterthur have now gone eight matches without a first watch win, while Sion remain winless in their last three outings.
At the Letzigrund, Servette made a flying start when Kadile opened the scoring after only 67 seconds. FC Zurich fought back, levelling from the penalty spot after the ball struck Gaël Ondoua's arm. But Servette dominated the closing stages, and Kadile sealed the win in the 88th minute with his second goal of the game.
Kadile's brace was particularly notable given his recent move. The 24-year-old, on loan from Almere City, had scored six goals and provided six assists in the Dutch second division this season before his late transfer. His match-winning display against Zurich marked a strong start to his Super League career.
FC Zurich, meanwhile, struggled to create clear chances beyond their penalty. The defeat leaves them searching for consistency, while Servette finally broke their five-match draw streak.
Kadile's two goals lifted Servette to a crucial 2–1 win, ending their winless run. Winterthur, despite avoiding defeat, still await their first watch win in over two months. Both sides now look ahead to their next fixtures, with Servette gaining momentum and Zurich seeking improvement.
