Kabardinka's Old Park Theatre Director Wins National Cultural Award

The awards ceremony took place in Moscow at the State Theatre of Nations.

Alexander Alexeyev, director of the Old Park Theatre in the village of Kabardinka, Gelendzhik, won in the "Municipal-Level Manager" category.

"Our fellow countryman is among Russia's top cultural leaders. He has demonstrated outstanding professionalism and a talent for effectively developing Kuban's cultural scene. Today, the Old Park Theatre is a major attraction on the Black Sea coast, hosting plays, concerts, and festivals that draw audiences from across the country. I congratulate Alexander Alexeyev on this significant achievement. Not only has he successfully grown the theatre, but he also plays an active role in the Krasnodar Region's Youth Council for Culture, supporting and inspiring talented professionals," commented Viktoria Lapina, the region's minister of culture.

Over 5,000 applications were submitted for the award from across Russia, including Krasnodar Region. The winners received their prizes from distinguished guests, among them Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, actor and film director Vladimir Mashkov, and conductor Yury Bashmet.

The Old Park Cultural Center Theatre in Kabardinka opened in 2017. It stages both touring productions and its own performances for children and adults, as well as chamber music concerts. According to the Krasnodar Region administration's press service, the theatre welcomes around 40,000 visitors annually.

The National Award for Cultural Managers, established by Russia's Ministry of Culture in 2025, evaluates candidates based on the success of their current work, managerial innovation, and alignment with state cultural policy priorities.
