K-pop group Demon Hunters secures a musical theater release, climbing up to the second position in Netflix's streaming rankings of all time.

After its successful run as Netflix's most watched original animated movie, "KPop Demon Hunters" is set to return to theaters for a limited time. The sing-along edition of the movie, which follows a world-famous KPop group who moonlight as monster hunters, will be available starting August 13.

The movie, which has over 180 million views, making it the second most watched English language streaming film on Netflix, was initially released in theaters and is now making a comeback as part of a growing trend of theatrical sing-along rereleases. Other examples of this trend include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, The Minecraft Movie, and Wicked.

The songs in "KPop Demon Hunters" are a core part of the film and were written by a talented group of artists and composers, including TEDDY, 24, Danny Chung, IDO, Vince, KUSH, EJAE, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick, Daniel Rojas, and Marcelo Zarvos. The songs are performed by artists including pEJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, Andrew Choi, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee, Neckwav, and Lea Salonga. Some of these artists, along with TEDDY, IDO, DOMINSUK, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, and Ian Eisendrath, also produced the soundtrack.

For the sing-along theatrical release, audience participation is encouraged but comes with specific rules and etiquette to ensure an enjoyable experience for all attendees. Key points include:

  • No food or drinks allowed inside the theater to avoid distractions and maintain cleanliness.
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring their light-sticks to enhance the sing-along atmosphere.
  • The event is designed for active audience participation, implying singing along and engaging with the performance in a respectful and enthusiastic manner.
  • General theater etiquette, such as respecting fellow audience members and following any additional instructions from event staff, is expected.

It is usually considered impolite to talk loudly in a movie theater, but singing along is an exception. This sing-along edition of "KPop Demon Hunters" is not being released for the first time in theaters, but it is a rare opportunity for fans to experience the movie on the big screen once more. As of now, there is no information about a sing-along edition for the theatrical rerelease of "KPop Demon Hunters" on August 23 and 24.
