Juventus FC in Turin is reportedly interested in Jeff Chabot, potentially making him a backup option for their VfB defence.

In a potential shakeup for VfB Stuttgart, Italian giants Juventus Turin are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of defender Jeff Chabot. The 28-year-old, who joined Stuttgart from relegation candidate 1. FC Köln in the summer of 2024, has been a key player for the German club since his arrival.

Chabot succeeded Waldemar Anton as the defensive chief for VfB Stuttgart and has played an integral role in the team's successes. He made it into the starting lineup for both Cologne and Stuttgart, but was a substitute player in Genoa. One of his most notable achievements with the club was winning the DFB Cup title in an unspecified season.

Recently, Juventus Turin has been rumoured to be preparing a €15 million bid for Chabot, as they seek to bolster their defence. However, Stuttgart might set a higher price for the defender, given his significant role in the team and his contract running until 2028. According to transfermarkt.de, Chabot's market value is approximately 12 million euros, with some media reports suggesting a value as high as 20 million euros.

Juventus Turin is said to be willing to pay a maximum of 15 million euros for Chabot, but he is reportedly their plan B for a potential transfer. The club is currently also said to have interest in VfB Stuttgart's Josha Vagnoman.

It is considered unlikely that VfB Stuttgart will let Chabot go for less than his market value. The transfer of Chabot to Juventus Turin is not ruled out, but it remains to be seen if the two clubs can agree on a fee.

Chabot has previous experience playing in Italy, having been under contract with Sampdoria Genoa from 2019 to 2022 and loaned to Spezia Calcio in the 20/21 season. He made an impression when VfB Stuttgart won 1:0 against Juventus Turin in the Champions League in October 2024.

Chabot's potential transfer to Juventus Turin might be influenced by his past experience in Italian sports, specifically Italian clubs like Sampdoria Genoa and Spezia Calcio. Although Juventus has shown interest in other European leagues, such as Serie A, they are reportedly prepared to pay a maximum of €15 million for Chabot, which may not be enough for VfB Stuttgart, given his market value.
