Juvenile With Suspect Criminal History Apprehended in Lithuania: Implicated in Almaty Murder
In a significant development, a Kyrgyz criminal authority known as "Deтиna" (or Y. Y.) was detained in Lithuania. Y. Y., a native of Kyrgyzstan born in 1979, has been wanted by Kyrgyz law enforcement for a murder committed in Bishkek in 2007.
According to reports, Y. Y. fled the country after committing the murder and was also wanted by Kazakh law enforcement for a separate murder in Almaty. Y. Y. was carrying fake documents under the name Sh. A. during his arrest in August, but the location of the arrest was not specified in the media reports.
Y. Y. was previously a member of the Organised Crime Group (OCG) led by Ryspek Akmatbayev, a criminal authority linked to the drug cartel known as "The Baron". However, no further details have been released about "Deтиna's" involvement in the activities of the OCG led by Kamchybek Asanbek (Kamchi Kolbaev).
Interestingly, the leader of "The Baron" drug cartel was detained in Kyrgyzstan in late June, along with three associates. It is not clear if "Deтиna's" arrest was related to this detention.
It is also not known if "Deтиna" has been charged or indicted for any crimes in Kyrgyzstan or any other country. Nor is it clear if "Deтиna" was extradited to Kyrgyzstan or any other country after the arrest.
Y. Y. is said to have shot the owner of a car dealership in Bishkek, adding another layer of complexity to his criminal history.
The nickname or alias "Deтина" became known in connection with a crime in Almaty around early 2023. Meanwhile, "The Baron" drug cartel has been linked to financing the OCG of criminal authority Kamchybek Asanbek.
This arrest serves as a reminder of the global reach of organised crime and the ongoing efforts to bring criminals to justice. As more details emerge, we will continue to update this story.
