bloody fantastic finish secures a spot in the semi finals for Germany's U19 football squad at the U19 Euros in Romania!
Forget about the DFB's drama, this time the young guns are partying hard. Germany clinched a late win over Norway in their final Group B game, 2:1 (0:0), in a nail-biting joust that went down till the last minute.
Norway took an early lead through Sondre Granaas (72'), but Leipzig's Assan Ouedraogo (85') and Cologne's Said El Mala (90.+1) turned the tables and stole the victory our boys needed to secure their ticket to the semis against Spain.
It wasn't all smooth sailing earlier, as Germany crashed spectacularly against England, blowing a 5:1 lead to draw 5:5 [4]. Luckily, the Dutch came to the rescue, snatching a 4:2 win against England and securing the help Germany needed to proceed to the semis.
The game against Norway was an open, thrilling affair, with Norway taking the lead (76'), only for our boys to fight back. Ouedraogo's stunning goal (85') wasn't enough to secure immediate qualification, but with El Mala scoring in injury time, our boys took the win and the top spot in Group B.
Next up is Spain, defending champions and winners of every group match so far [1]. The semis go down on Monday (5 PM/Sky), and the final will be on June 26.
