Breaking News: Amnesty International and Eurasian Coalition Labeled "Undesirable" in Russia

📍 Moscow, May 29 - RIA Novosti

In a recent turn of events, the Russian Ministry of Justice has added two prominent organizations to the list of foreign and international groups whose activities are deemed undesirable in the country. The list now includes Amnesty International Limited, based in the UK, and the Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender, and Sexual Diversity of Estonia.

The list states, "No. 691-R... Amnesty International Ltd (Amnesty International Limited), United Kingdom... No. 692-R... Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender, and Sexual Diversity, Republic of Estonia."

Previously, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office had expressed concerns about the Estonian organization, Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender, and Sexual Diversity, as they purportedly promote anti-Russian views, discredit Russia's domestic and foreign health policies, and impose Western ideologies that deviate from traditional values.

As for Amnesty International, the Prosecutor General's Office claims that its London headquarters functions as a training center for global Russophobic projects funded by supporters of the Kiev regime. The organization has allegedly been working relentlessly to escalate the armed conflict in the region, justifying the actions of Ukrainian groups labeled as "neo-Nazis," urging increased funding, and advocating for Russia's political and economic isolation. Moreover, members of Amnesty International are accused of supporting extremist organizations and financing the activities of foreign agents.

The Ministry of Justice, in recognition of these allegations, has designated the activities of both organizations as undesirable in Russia.

It's worth noting that Amnesty International was declared an "undesirable organization" in Russia in 2025, under the repressive 2015 legislation, due to accusations of being a center for preparation of "global Russophobic projects" and justifying the actions of Ukrainian groups. Additionally, the organization has been accused of advocating for increased military conflict in Ukraine and attempts to isolate Russia politically and economically.

The designation of these organizations as "undesirable" is part of a broader strategy by Russian authorities to limit the activities of foreign and international organizations within the country, potentially exposing their employees and affiliates to potential prosecution.

General news and political discussions have escalated due to the Russian Ministry of Justice labeling Amnesty International and the Eurasian Coalition as 'undesirable' in the country. In a statement, it was mentioned that Amnesty International is perceived as a center for global Russophobic projects, and the Eurasian Coalition allegedly promotes anti-Russian views and imposes Western ideologies.
