Junior tournament's initial stage: The Wisse competition
In the heart of Eller, on Gumbertstraße, the local Franz Ratte was bustling with excitement on Saturday, 4th January. The annual Kneipenkarneval, a much-anticipated event, was in full swing, and this year, it was particularly special.
Lothar Adams, the outgoing chief of the St. Seb. Schützenverein Eller, was awarded the prestigious "Pritsche der Jrön Wisse" for his long-standing services to the preservation and promotion of local traditions. Dagmar van Dahlen, his successor as the Pritschenträger, held a heartfelt laudation in his honour.
The princely couple Andreas and Evelyn were present at the event, adding a touch of royal elegance. The Dreigestirn of the Närrischen Schmetterlinge and the Tanzgarde of the Blau-Weißen from Büderich, the Tanzsportgarde Düsseldorf of the Hötter Jonges, and two dancers from Jülich were among the many dance groups that demonstrated their dances on a small stage, each performance met with applause and cheers from the crowd.
The music express provided the musical interludes, setting the lively mood, while the Rhythmik - Fanfaren Düsseldorf Eller led the musical opening. Singer Nina von Pänz en de Bütt and Max Weyers led the rest of the Jrön-Wisse program, ensuring the evening was filled with entertainment.
The Jrön Wisse Jonges, Hötter Jonges, Schützen, friendly societies, and numerous Tollitäten were present, welcoming the delegation from the CC, which included President Lothar Hörning, his vice Stefan Kleinehr, and business manager Uwe Willer. They were welcomed with waving flags and enjoyed the atmosphere, a testament to Lothar Adams' dedication and impact on the community.
The prince exclaimed "Hoppa", considering it appropriate for such a great Karneval. The dance group of the Große Erkrather KG was also present, adding to the festive spirit of the night. It was indeed a night to remember, celebrating Lothar Adams' contributions and the rich local traditions of Eller.
