Fueling excitement in the athletics world, Weber proved a force to be reckoned with at the Diamond League in Doha, breaking the 90-meter barrier for his maiden voyage. Placing first among the esteemed competitors, Weber surpassed Neeraj Chopra's (India) record (90.23) with a thrilling throw of 91.06 meters in the final heat. The previous year saw similar dominance from Weber, reaching distances of 89.84 and 89.06 meters.

Aiming to clinch his first world-level medal at this year's WM in Tokyo (September 13-21), Weber, a former sixth-place Olympian finisher, has narrowly missed the podium at past Olympic and World Championships.

Simultaneously, Weber's German counterpart, Max Dehning, missed the mark with a disappointing 74.00-meter throw, placing him eleventh. The discus competition saw German athletes struggle, as well, with Henrik Janssen (Magdeburg) and Clemens Prüfer (Potsdam) finishing eighth and sixth, respectively.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Tia Clayton captured the hearts of spectators in a pulsating 100-meter race. Clayton set a new world-leading time of 10.92 seconds, outpacing her twin sister Tina and British athlete Amy Hunt. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, a two-time Olympic champion, posted a time of 11.05 seconds in her first Diamond League appearance in three years. Fraser-Pryce, 38, is rumored to call it quits at the season's end. The men's 200-meter race saw Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo (Botswana) finish second, just shy of his ambitious time goal of 20.10 seconds.

The 2025 WM season will host 15 stops on the Diamond League calendar, with overall winners in 32 disciplines crowned in Zurich on August 27-28. A record-breaking $9.24 million in prize money will be awarded in total. The fourth stop on the roster takes place in Rabat, Morocco, on May 25.
