Julia Nawalnaja initiates television broadcast network

On the anticipated birthday of Alexei Navalny, June 4, 2025, Julia Navalnaya, his widow, is set to launch a TV station titled "Future of Russia." The broadcast, in collaboration with Reporters Without Borders (RSF), a non-governmental organization dedicated to preserving and promoting independent journalism, aims to reach nearly the entire Russian populace via a satellite system.

The launch of "Future of Russia" underscores Julia Navalnaya's commitment to press freedom in Russia, an environment where it is severely restricted. The TV channel's mission is rooted in this broader goal, with the intention of serving as an independent source of news and information.

Navalny, a prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, passed away under unclear circumstances at the age of 47 in a Russian penal colony in February 2024. He was posthumously sentenced to 19 years for what Russian authorities labeled as "extremism." Since then, Julia Navalnaya has emerged as an active figure in the Russian opposition abroad.
