In the world of reality television, the upcoming season of The Bachelorette is causing a stir. The lead for this season, Taylor Frankie Paul, has a colourful past that has already sparked debates and discussions.

Paul, a mother of three, has had children with Tate Paul and Dakota Mortensen. Her life has been the subject of the popular series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which is streaming with a Hulu subscription. In a recent interview on Call Her Daddy, Paul opened up about her personal life, an interview that was met with a joke from Joy Behar, a co-host on The View, who made a comment about Paul's multiple baby daddies.

Contestant Kalon McMahon was dismissed from Season 8 of The Bachelorette for referring to a lead's daughter as "baggage." It seems that Paul's past has not been without its own controversies. However, Alyssa Farah Griffin, a commentator, has refused to disparage Paul for her past, instead approving of ABC's casting decision for Paul. Griffin finds the decision to recruit from outside of Bachelor Nation uncertain, but she gives grace to Paul's past.

Griffin has also compared Mel Owens' preference for dating women under the age of 45 to a dog, causing a bit of controversy in its own right. Owens, a former NFL linebacker, expressed his preference, but Sunny Hostin pointed out that just because Owens wants to date 45-year-old women, it doesn't mean that 45-year-olds want to date him.

The upcoming season of The Golden Bachelor will air at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, September 24, on ABC. As for The Bachelorette, Paul's appearance is expected to premiere in January 2026. With a new lead and a past full of intrigue, the season is sure to be one of the most talked-about yet.
