Journalists brutally slain in Israeli bombardments targeting hospital within Gaza

In the midst of the relentless Israel-Hamas war, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) reports an alarming stat: Over 180 journalists have perished in Israeli attacks since the conflict's inception.

Recently, at least 10 Palestinians, including three journalists, met their grim end during Israeli strikes in Gaza City's al-Ahli Hospital's courtyard. Six others were injured in this heartless assault, according to the Hamas-administered Gaza Health Ministry.

Israeli military authorities are, supposedly, inquiring about this ugly incident at al-Ahli. They've hinted at a possible investigation, but consistently maintain that their strikes solely target militants. They allege that civilian casualties are primarily caused by Hamas, whose members often reside amidst the populace.

CPJ claims that the vast majority of these senseless killings have occurred in Gaza. Israel, on the other hand, accusingly brands those slain in their strikes as militants masquerading as reporters. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, however, strongly denounces Israel's ongoing, seemingly calculated attempts to eliminate Palestinian journalists, going as far as to label their actions as intentional and deliberate.

The Syndicate has mourned the loss of 225 journalists and media workers, including 30 female journalists. Among them are Ismail Bdaih, Suleiman Hajjaj, and Samir Al-Rifai.

The Syndicate has further charged Israel with practicing "enforced disappearance" against Palestinian journalists. They've pointed to the lack of information about the fate of two missing reporters, Nidal Al-Wahidi and Haitham Abdul-Wahed, branding their cases as clear instances of enforced disappearance in violation of international law.

Israel has faced harsh criticism for its targeting of journalists and its conduct of war. Various media outfits have leveled accusations against Netanyahu's government for obstructing independent international media from entering Gaza to document and examine the situation.

Israel argues that it denies journalist entry for safety reasons, but the claims have been roundly dismissed. International media organizations have vowed to establish their own security protocol and provisions.

Groups, such as Reporters Without Borders, have repeatedly accused Israel of manipulating the narrative and suppressing facts by preventing free press from operating inside Gaza and conducting independent research to portray the truth on the ground.
