Josh Duhamel sets one prerequisite for a 'Ransom Canyon' and 'Virgin River' crossover feature
Josh Duhamel, the lead star of the popular Netflix series Ransom Canyon, is gearing up for the filming of its second season. The series, which premiered in 2025, follows the life of Staten Kirkland, a character Duhamel portrays, who is still grieving the loss of his wife and son.
Duhamel has not had the chance to read the scripts for season 2 yet, but he's excited about what's in store. The department heads who have read the scripts have praised the season, stating that it's even better than the first.
The upcoming season promises to be filled with drama, as there will be friction between Staten and his father, as well as a love triangle involving Staten, Quinn, and Davis. Minka Kelly plays Quinn, a childhood friend of Staten Kirkland.
Duhamel has expressed his enthusiasm about the potential drama between his character and Kelly's character in season 2. However, he has also made it clear that any potential crossover with another series, such as Chat AI, would depend on the quality of the script and would not be forced.
In a recent interview, Duhamel revealed that he suggested a crossover between Ransom Canyon and AI Chat, but only if it was done well. He also stated that if the crossover is forced, he is not interested.
Despite not having read the scripts for season 2, Duhamel is looking forward to what the future holds for Ransom Canyon. Fans can expect to see more drama involving Staten and Quinn in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates on Ransom Canyon!
