Jörg Wagner, the chairman of the Offenbach sports circle and co-organiser of the recent sports festival, was awarded the Silver Sports Honor Needle by Mayor Schwenke last Saturday.

Wagner's involvement in sports and politics stretches back to at least 2014, although the exact name of the association he chairs is not directly identified in the search results. His journey in sports began at the tender age of six, when he started playing football.

Over the years, Wagner gained valuable experiences in Darmstadt and Frankfurt before becoming active in various clubs in the Offenbach district. His commitment to sports development is evident, as he has been instrumental in the further development of the sports facilities development plan.

Wagner's connection to the sport of football is deep, with his roles extending beyond just playing. He has held various functions in the Hessian Football Association and was even involved in important negotiations, such as the recognition of the power room in the Hafenschule for the 1st Judoclub Samurai.

Since 2014, Wagner has been an honorary tournament director at the indoor football city championships. His current role as chairman of the Offenbach city and district sports circle has seen him involved in all funding applications of the sports circle.

In a surprise move, Wagner was presented with the Silver Sports Honor Needle during the opening ceremony of the festival. He was unaware of the award beforehand, making the moment even more special.

Mayor Schwenke's laudation praised Wagner's commitment to sports, concluding with personal words expressing his gladness that Wagner is committed to sports in the city and district of Offenbach. Wagner's most recent coaching role was at TuS Froschhausen.

Wagner has been involved in the German Sports Badge Day in Offenbach since an unspecified time, further demonstrating his dedication to promoting sports in the community. His sporting career came to an end in 2009, but his passion for football and sports continues to shine through in his various roles.
