Dittrich re-elected as President of the German Crafts Association - Jörg Dittrich re-elected to lead Germany’s craft businesses for three more years

Jörg Dittrich, a master roofer from Dresden, has been re-elected president of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH) for another three-year term. His leadership will continue to represent over one million craft businesses across the country. Dittrich also heads a long-standing family business and serves as president of the Dresden Chamber of Crafts.

Dittrich’s re-election comes after a period of vocal criticism towards political figures. In late November 2025, he publicly opposed remarks made by Federal Labour Minister Bärbel Bas (SPD) at the Juso Congress. Bas had spoken about fighting against employers, which Dittrich labelled as false accusations against business leaders.

With his re-election, Dittrich will keep representing the interests of Germany’s craft businesses. His agenda centres on practical reforms to ease financial and administrative burdens. The next three years will test whether his advocacy can bring tangible changes for the sector.
