Jordan Spieth Laughs Off Augusta Masters Crisis
With a chuckle, Jordan Spieth, the world number one, is now joking about his Augusta Masters debacle, a setback that almost seemed to sideline his hopes of back-to-back wins at the prestigious tournament.
Spieth lost his chance at winning two Augusta titles in a row when his storied Sunday at Amen Corner saw his dreams crumbling, hitting a four-shot bogey at the 12th hole. Seven strokes were the price he paid for his mishap that day.

Despite the crushing blow, Spieth took it all in stride, stating at a Pennsylvania sponsors event that, "I'm not particularly angry..." He went on to joke that, "ladies in the supermarket come up to me, put their hands on me, and say, 'I really do pray for you... how are you doing?' and I say, 'My dog's not dead. I'm doing great.' I'll live, I'll recover, it happened... it was a bad-timed situation."
Golf fans have long remembered another heart-wrenching collapse at the Augusta Masters, when Rory McIlroy lost an eight-stroke lead in 2011. Like Spieth, McIlroy rebounded, eventually winning the U.S. Open that year.
Spieth was leading the Masters for seven rounds and seemed poised to become the first golfer to win two consecutive titles from start to finish. However, two bogeys and a double bogey on three back-nine holes derailed his chances.
Nevertheless, it seemed Spieth was determined to make amends when he headed to Oakmont to participate in the U.S. Open that June.
Breaking the monotonous routine of his golfing career had never felt so good for the young golfer. In the Bahamas, with close friends Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, and Smiley Kaufman, Spieth indulged in some well-deserved rest.
"We had a blast," Spieth shared on social media. "We were relaxed, and golf was the side act."
Facing his demons was just a part of Spieth's overall plan, one that didn't seem to put undue pressure on himself. Remarkably, he's honed a positive attitude and found solace in the support of his fellow golfers.
Despite their camaraderie, the competition never stops when it comes to golf tournaments, which Spieth intends to prove as he goes for that elusive second title. So, if you're a golf fan, let us know what you think about Spieth's approach to navigating this challenging stretch in his career.
