Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is set to undergo a procedure on his left thumb, but the team is optimistic that the recovery time will be short, and he will not miss any regular-season games.
The injury, a ligament issue in Love's non-throwing thumb, occurred during the preseason opener against the New York Jets when Love hit his hand on a helmet. Love managed to continue practicing, albeit with an unconventional technique to protect his thumb.

The Packers' first regular-season game of the 2022 season is at home against NFC North rival Detroit, scheduled for September 7. With Love expected to return to practice next week, the team remains confident that he will be ready to lead them in their season opener.
