The Wilhelm Raabe Literature Prize for 2023 has been awarded to Jonas Lüscher for his novel 'Enchanted Destiny'. The jury, consisting of nine members including Prof. Dr. h. c. Gerd Biegel and Dr. Wiebke Porombka as the spokesperson, selected Lüscher's novel for its exploration of the relationship between humans and machines, and the ambivalence of technical progress. The novel also delves into the possibilities and conditions of art and artists. Previous winners of the prize, awarded annually to a German-language narrative work, include Rainald Goetz, Jochen Missfeldt, and Saša Stanisic.
