Jon Rahm's latest victory at the Mexican Open propels him closer to breaking PGA Tour's single-season earnings record, earning him $1,386,000 and a total of $14.6 million for the season so far. Although Rahm didn't manage to defend his title, he impressed with his impressive form, clinching four victories at designated events, outshining last season's record holder, Scottie Scheffler.

Rahm's wins at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Genesis Invitational, and the Masters, combined with impressive prize money, have helped him surpass Scheffler's total earnings in just 12 tournament starts.

Tony Finau, the runner-up at the Mexican Open, had a significant turnaround, improving his score by eight strokes from last year, securing his sixth PGA Tour title with a 24-under finish. Finau started the final round with a two-stroke advantage over Rahm, maintaining his lead with five birdies and only one bogey to secure the win.

Despite falling short of title defense, Rahm remains optimistic about his chances, emphasizing that the journey towards success is never over. He acknowledges the fierce competition in the field and the good performances from players like Finau. However, Rahm remains determined, using Arnold Palmer's famous quote as motivation.

"The way to success is always in the making." Rahm shared with reporters, highlighting the need to keep pushing in his pursuit of more victories.

Rahm currently stands at an impressive $49.48 million in total earnings from the PGA Tour since joining in 2016. With his outstanding performance this season, he is expected to break the $50 million mark upon his return.
