The fifth chapter in the 'John Wick' series unfolds - John Wick's storyline persists, unfolding further.
Get ready, "John Wick" fans! The man behind the barrelling bullets and expertly-orchestrated action sequences has spilled the beans on what to expect from the highly-anticipated fifth installment of the thrilling franchise. Yes, you guessed it - director Chad Stahelski is back to guide Keanu Reeves through yet another mind-blowing chapter of the saga. In a candid conversation with "Empire," Stahelski was more than willing to drop a few tantalizing hints about the direction of the upcoming movie.
According to the mastermind behind the immensely successful series, the intricate revenge saga revolving around the elusive "High Table" (a cabal of twelve crime lords) is officially put to rest. "The 'John Wick' epic was basically tied up in a neat bow," Stahelski asserted. He went on to explain that the only way to proceed with a fifth film is to craft a brand-new story centered around John Wick himself. "John's processed his grief," Stahelski confirmed.
Confident in the new direction he's taking the franchise, Stahelski is already excited about sharing a sneak peek of what's in store with legions of "John Wick" enthusiasts. "I can't wait to see their jaws drop when they finally catch a glimpse of the trailer!" Stahelski promised. But let's not forget, it won't be a carbon copy of its predecessors - Stahelski assures us it'll be "completely different."
The "Wickverse" Expands
The savvy director seems intent on expanding the ever-evolving "John Wick" universe. While details about the upcoming fifth film remain scarce, fans will soon have another chance to delve deeper into the world of assassins and high-stakes mayhem with the forthcoming spin-off, "Ballerina: From the World of John Wick," featuring Ana de Armas in the lead role, set to hit theaters on June 5. In addition, a Donnie Yen-led spin-off, two series called "The Continental" and "Under The High Table," and an animated prequel film are all in various stages of development. And with whispers of other characters potentially receiving their own spin-offs, well, it looks like John Wick is here to stay.
