John Malkovich Stars in 'The Hunger Games' Stage Adaptation at New London Theatre
A new theatre-in-the-round venue, the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, is set to host a unique stage adaptation of 'The Hunger Games'. The production, produced by a team including Oliver Royds and Umeda Arts Theater, will feature John Malkovich as President Coriolanus Snow, with Mia Carragher as Katniss Everdeen and Euan Garrett as Peeta Mellark.
Conor McPherson has skillfully adapted the first book and film for the stage, bringing Suzanne Collins' dystopian tale to life. The story follows Katniss' journey as she fights for survival and leads a rebellion against the Capitol. The production will begin previews on October 20, with the opening night scheduled for November 12.
The theatre, designed specifically for this production, boasts 1,200 seats arranged in a round, immersing the audience in the action. The cast also includes Joshua Lacey, Tristan Waterson, Tamsin Carroll, Stavros Demetraki, Nathan Ives-Moiba, Sophia Ally, and Ruth Everett.
