John Bommarito's Journey from Car Washing to Founding Two NASCAR Racing Teams
John Bommarito: A Success Story in Business and Motorsports
John Bommarito, the President of Bommarito Automotive Group, has made a name for himself not only in the automotive industry but also in the world of NASCAR. His journey, marked by hard work, smart partnerships, and a knack for negotiation, has led him to become a key player in both fields.
Bommarito's roots in the automotive industry run deep. At the tender age of 12, he began washing and parking cars at the Bommarito Automotive Group. By 15, he was working in the service department, and his hard work paid off when he was accepted into Stanford University Medical School. However, Bommarito chose to return to his roots, a decision that would prove to be pivotal.
In 1992, Bommarito took over a failing Oldsmobile-Cadillac store that was only selling 25 units a month. Under his leadership, the Bommarito Automotive Group has grown exponentially, now selling over 280 units a month. This success has made the group the top choice for consumers in all automotive needs.
Bommarito's business philosophy revolves around partnerships. He partnered up with racecar driver and owner Jordan Anderson and started two NASCAR teams, Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito AutoSport. This partnership has had a significant influence in the NASCAR world. One of their teams finished in the top 10 on their debut race at the Circuit of the Americas.
In NASCAR, Bommarito's influence extends beyond ownership. He negotiated a deal with Mazda to add a new brand to his store, significantly increasing sales. He also befriended the CEO and owner of Gateway Motorsports Park, Curtis Francois, and negotiated a multi-year agreement. This led to an INDYCAR series event that brought competitors from all over the world.
Negotiation is a tool Bommarito uses to create successful partnerships. His skills in this area are implied by his ownership and partnership deals in a competitive sports environment. Bommarito's NASCAR team, Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito AutoSport, fields the No. 32 Chevrolet and supports rising NASCAR talents such as Rajah Caruth, highlighting Bommarito's investment in motorsports development.
In addition to his business and NASCAR achievements, Bommarito values education. He graduated high school in the top two percent of his class and found that negotiation was key to increasing sales when he became a Sales Manager in the family business.
In 2022, Bommarito and his partners were honoured to host the first-ever Nascar race at their hometown track World Wide Technology Raceway. This event marked a significant milestone in Bommarito's journey, further cementing his place as a leader in both the automotive industry and NASCAR.
John Bommarito's partnership with racecar driver Jordan Anderson led to the establishment of Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito AutoSport, a NASCAR team that has created a significant impact in the racing world. In addition to his success in the automotive industry, Bommarito's involvement in NASCAR extends beyond ownership, as he also supports rising racing talents and invests in motorsports development.
