John Abraham's movie 'The Diplomat' will commence its digital streaming starting tomorrow.

In the bustling city of Mumbai, the John Abraham-led psychological thriller "The Diplomat" is poised to hit streaming platforms. The film, directed by Shivam Nair, will grace Netflix on May 9.

Via an Instagram post, Netflix announced the release date, saying, "Get ready! The Diplomat lands on May 9, only on Netflix."

During an interview with ANI, John Abraham sheds light on what drew him to the project. He describes "The Diplomat" as an intense, emotional rollercoaster rather than just another nationalistic tale. He elaborated, "It's not just a patriotic film, it's an emotional, edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller."

Comparing it to the acclaimed film Argo, John added, "It's like watching a film called Argo. If you've seen that movie, it's a true story about the US Embassy in Iran and how they had to evacuate people. You won't breathe when you watch that film; you'll be riveted to your seat. That feeling is what I got from The Diplomat."

The Diplomat is the combined effort of Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar (T-Series), John Abraham (JA Entertainment), Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films), Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, and Rakesh Dang (Fortune Pictures/Seeta Films).

In this film, John plays JP Singh, the Deputy High Commissioner at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan. The narrative revolves around Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman who has been tricked into marriage in Pakistan, seeking refuge at the Indian High Commission. JP Singh takes on the mission to repatriate her back to India, a task that involves navigating intricate legal hurdles, intense diplomatic pressures from both governments, and constant threats of escalating tensions.

Much like Argo, The Diplomat delves into high-stakes diplomacy and rescue missions. However, the settings and specifics differ. Argo focuses on covert operations and deception, while The Diplomat explores the tense and emotional journey of repatriating an individual under the watchful eye of international law and diplomatic relations. The film is filled with nail-biting suspense and deep emotional resonance. Buckle up and mark your calendars, "The Diplomat" arrives on Netflix on May 9.
