Joe Rogan’s podcast dethrones *The Daily* as Apple’s top show of 2024

Apple has released its annual list of the most popular podcasts, revealing a shift in listener preferences. The Joe Rogan Experience, led by comedian and mixed martial arts commentator Joe Rogan, now leads the rankings, while new celebrity-driven shows have also made an impact. This year’s top 10 features a mix of returning favourites and fresh entries.

The Joe Rogan Experience has climbed to the number one spot, overtaking The Daily from The New York Times. Rogan’s long-form interviews, often lasting two to three hours, continue to attract millions of listeners. His show also dominates YouTube’s weekly podcast chart.

Returning hits like Crime Junkie, Dateline NBC, and SmartLess remain in the top 10. This American Life and Huberman Lab also kept their places. Meanwhile, The Mel Robbins Podcast, absent from last year’s rankings, has surged to third position.

Newcomers include Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy and The Ezra Klein Show. Both have broken into the top 10 for the first time. Celebrity chat shows are also gaining traction, with Good Hang hosted by Amy Poehler and Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce among the standout debuts.

The most popular episodes of the year cover diverse themes. Topics range from telepathy and unsolved crimes to high-profile interviews and political discussions.

The latest rankings highlight a growing appetite for long-form conversations and celebrity-led content. The Joe Rogan Experience, led by Joe Rogan, now sits at the top, while fresh entries like Call Her Daddy and The Ezra Klein Show reflect changing listener tastes. Apple’s list confirms that podcasts remain a major force in entertainment and news.
