In an exciting development, renowned guitarist Joe Bonamassa has unveiled plans for a special all-star album titled 'BBC King's Blues Summit 100'. The album, set to release on February 6, 2026, via KTBA Records, is a tribute to the late blues legend 'BBC King' on the occasion of what would have been his 100th birthday.
The album, produced by Bonamassa and Josh Smith, boasts an impressive lineup of artists, including Buddy Guy, Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram, Slash, Shemekia Copeland, Marcus King, Kirk Fletcher, Larkin Poe, and many more.
Bonamassa, who listed 'BBC King' as one of the guitarists who blew his mind in 2021, asserts that 'BBC King's Blues Summit 100' aims to give a B12 shot to 'BBC King's' legacy and the legacy of the blues. He shares that the first five tracks from the album are available to stream now.
The album features 32 of 'BBC King's' most-famous tracks, with each artist lending their unique style to the timeless classics. The late bluesman's legacy, according to the 'BBC King' estate, is not just in the music itself, but in the message behind it, his 'spirit of love' and gift for bringing people together.
In addition to the veteran artists, the next generation of blues players is also represented on 'BBC King's Blues Summit 100'. Eric Gales, Gary Clark Jr, Warren Haynes, and Chris Buck are among the young talents featured on the album.
The project has the blessing of the 'BBC King' estate and Bonamassa will share new tracks from the album each month leading up to its release. The album is available for preorder on all formats via Joe Bonamassa.
