Joe Bonamassa & Seymour Duncan Pay Tribute to Tommy Bolin with 'Bolin Burst' Pickups

Guitar enthusiasts and Deep Purple fans alike are thrilled with the release of the 'Bolin Burst' signature humbucker set by Seymour Duncan, in collaboration with Joe Bonamassa. This limited edition pickup set pays homage to the late Tommy Bolin's iconic 1960 Les Paul Standard, affectionately known as the Bolin 'Burst.

Bolin's 'Burst' guitar, originally purchased by his friend David Brown for $125 in 1966, became synonymous with the guitarist's distinctive sound in Deep Purple and on his solo album 'Private Eyes'. Despite the mystery surrounding the developer's name, Seymour Duncan and Joe Bonamassa have meticulously recreated the guitar's humbuckers through an in-depth analysis of the original pickups.

The resulting 'Bolin Burst' set features Alnico 2 magnets, delivering an authentic vintage tonality that Bolin fans will appreciate. The bridge pickup offers a dynamic and barky sound, while the neck pickup provides warmth and clarity when pushed through an overdriven amp. Each set has been aged to match the originals, ensuring an unmistakable connection to Bolin's legacy.

Only 500 sets of the 'Bolin Burst' pickups will be produced, with each set signed by Joe Bonamassa and Seymour W. Duncan. Priced at $375, a portion of the proceeds will support Tommy Bolin's legacy through dedicated endowment and memorial funds.

The 'Bolin Burst' signature humbucker set is more than just a pickup; it's a tribute to Tommy Bolin's musical legacy. With its limited production run and support for Bolin's legacy, it's set to become a coveted item among guitarists and collectors alike.
