Criticism from Germany: Mika Beuster, federal chairman of the German Journalists' Association, criticized the temporary suspension of Kimmel's show as an attack on freedom of speech and the press. Foreign journalists may now only receive visas for 240 days instead of several years, a method to restrict independent reporting abroad.
Trump has strong influence on social media, including his own platform, Truth Social, and potential alternative platforms like TikTok, where experts expect the US government could gain the right to appoint a board member.
