According to reports, the store's security guard politely denied Lopez entry, citing that the store was at full capacity. The store's staff apparently did not recognise the star, leading to the unfortunate incident. Lopez responded gracefully, saying "okay, no problem," before leaving the store without incident.
After realizing who they had turned away, the Chanel store apologised and invited Lopez to return. However, her team declined the offer. Instead, the singer continued her shopping spree at nearby Celine and Beymen stores, reportedly spending a significant amount.
The incident sparked reactions, with reality TV star Bethenny Frankel criticising Chanel's elitism and unfair customer treatment. Frankel cited her own experience of being turned away from a Chanel store in Chicago.
Despite this minor setback, Lopez handled the situation with her signature poise and calmness, making no public fuss and continuing her shopping without drama. This composure echoes her recent onstage wardrobe malfunction, which she also handled with grace.
As the Up All Night: Live in 2025 world tour enters its final stretch, Lopez is also set to star in Bill Condon's upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman, alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh Elizarraraz. The film is slated for release on October 10.
