Thai Prodigy Jeeno Thitikul Continues Ascent in Women's Golf

Jeeno Thitikul, the young Thai professional golfer, has cemented her place among the world's top women golfers by August 2025. Competing on both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour (LET), Thitikul has racked up an impressive list of achievements.

Thitikul's career began with a bang, as she became the youngest golfer to win a professional tournament at the age of 14, capturing the 2017 Ladies European Thailand Championship. In 2020, she turned professional and quickly made an impact on the LPGA Tour.

One of her most notable victories was in March 2022, where she won the JTBC Classic. Aged just 19, Thitikul forced a playoff with an 8-under 64 final round and emerged victorious, making her the youngest LPGA winner since 2016.

Thitikul's success continued in 2022 and 2023, with multiple victories including the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship and the BMW Ladies Championship, where she set tournament records. In October 2022, she ascended to world number one, becoming the second-youngest golfer ever to do so after Lydia Ko, and winning the LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year Award that year.

In 2024, Thitikul won the Dow Championship (a team event with Ruoning Yin) and the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, earning the largest single first-place prize in women's golf that year ($4 million). She also won the Vare Trophy for the best scoring average in 2023, recognizing consistent excellence.

By mid-2025, Thitikul was ranked world number 1 again, with five LPGA wins, over $6 million earned in 2024, and a net worth approaching $10 million due to endorsements. However, she is still seeking her first major championship title, with strong contention at events like the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship.

Thitikul's reign as World No.1 will last for more than just two weeks, as she is set to replace Nelly Korda in the top spot. Korda, who held the World No.1 position for 72 consecutive weeks, finished her run at the 2025 AIG Women's Open. Thitikul herself won the same tournament, finishing two shots ahead of Korda.

Thitikul's journey to the top was not without challenges. She achieved a runner-up result at the HSBC Women's World Championship and finished T30 at the AIG Women's Open in Wales. However, she has registered 10 top 15 finishes in 2025, including a win at the Mizuho Americas Open.

As Thitikul continues to dominate the women's golf scene, her youthful enthusiasm and elite skills make her a player to watch for major titles in the near future.

Jeeno Thitikul, having won the Mizuho Americas Open in 2025, has demonstrated her prowess in multiple sports, particularly golf. In a historic moment, she replaced Nelly Korda as World No.1, a position Korda held for 72 consecutive weeks, following her win at the 2025 AIG Women's Open.
