"He's a musician with borderless Openness, seamlessly motioning between Jazz, Minimalism, and Pop. Deeply rooted in tradition and equally sovereign in improvisation, he amazes with a musical treasure trove brimming with exciting ideas," says Juror Nils Landgren, explaining the decision. The IB.SH-funded award comes with a hefty sum of 5,000 Euros.
Meyer, a 26-year-old born in Lüneburg, calls this honor a huge blessing, saying, "This award is a massive confirmation and motivation for me to continue my artistic journey. I'm thrilled to perform at Jazz Baltica!"
The IB.SH-JazzAward has been granted since 2008 and celebrates the artistic potential of young German musicians playing at Jazz Baltica. The award ceremony will take place on June 27th, starting at 4:30 PM. Catch Lennart Meyer with his "Acoustic Band" on the Open Air stage on June 28th, 9 PM. The event is free to attend.
