Weekend jazz extravaganza kicks off from September 12th to 14th, with the inaugural Twin Town Jazz Festival! This border-straddling music event brings together Mönchengladbach and Roermond as partner cities, delivering three days of live music, globetrotting artists, and thrilling workshops.

Jazz Festival set to debut concurrently in two cities from September 12 to 14.

Roermond will be the heart of the Twin Town Jazz Festival from September 12-14, 2025, with various performances and workshops scheduled. The festival kicks off on the Munsterplein on Friday, September 12, at 7:30 PM CEST.

One of the highlights of the festival is the "Twin Town Jazz: Fourfold" event on September 13, taking place at Munsterplein from 11:00 am CEST. Tickets for this event can be purchased online via the event link.

The Mönchengladbach-based Funk & Fusion Band Fourfold will perform at the Munsterplein on the same day. Admission for all performances at Munsterplein, including Fourfold, is free of charge.

For those interested in workshops, there are four sessions on Saturday, September 13, from 1:30 to 4:30 PM. These workshops, suitable for amateur musicians of all ages with some instrument experience, will feature renowned musicians for guitar, vocals, trumpet, and saxophone. In Swalmen, Nicolas Simion and Marc Huynen will lead workshops on saxophone and trumpet at the cultural center De Sjtasie. The Marion & Sobo Band, consisting of Franco-American singer Marion Lenfant-Preus, Polish guitarist Alexander "Sobo" Sobocinski, Stefan Berger (Keyboards), and Frank Brempel (Violin), will perform at De Sjtasie on Sunday, September 14th, at 7 PM, to conclude the Twin Town Jazz Festival. Tickets for the Marion & Sobo Band's performance cost €20 in advance and €23 at the door.

In Mönchengladbach, John Owens and Naïma Girou will lead workshops on jazz guitar and vocals at the BIS Center. The Naïma Quartett, an international group blending jazz groove and song tradition, will perform at the BIS Center. Tickets for the Naïma Quartett's performance cost €15 in advance and €18 at the door.

The Big Band Boesten, a Roermond-based big band, will perform on the market square in Rheydt on Saturday, September 13, at 11 AM (free admission). The Big Band Boesten, a fixture in the Dutch music scene since 1980, will present groovy jazz beyond bebop and swing.

The Herbe Quartett, led by saxophonist Milan Kühn, will perform at the Munsterplein in Roermond, offering a fresh take on jazz that goes beyond bebop and swing. Dutch guitarist Anton Goudsmit and his band will also perform at the BIS Center on Saturday, September 13, at 8 PM (tickets: €20 in advance, €23 at the door).
