Jazz and Blues Festival in Brasov resumes in August, offering a series of concerts, cinematic presentations, and family-friendly activities spread throughout the city.
Brasov Jazz & Blues Festival 2021 Kicks Off in Romania
The 13th edition of the Brasov Jazz & Blues Festival is set to transform the city into a multi-stage celebration of jazz, blues, gospel, and live improvisation from August 14 to 17.
The main blues stage will be set in Piatã Sf. Ioan, where concerts on August 15 and 16 will feature international artists such as Magda MAGIC Piskorczyk from Poland, Philip Lassiter from the USA and Netherlands, Sharrie Williams from the USA, and Zac Harmon from the USA.
Performances will take place at several locations throughout Brasov, including the Encore Club, Aftăr Garden, JUNO Wine Garden, O'Peter's Irish Pub, and other venues. The Encore Club will feature multiple bands with energetic performances, while the Aftăr Garden will host musical film screenings with free access.
Additional free jazz concerts will be held at Piatã Brassaië. Sharrie Williams' performance at the fortified church in Bod on August 17 will require tickets for seating.
Other performers at the festival include Curtis Salgado, Sari Schorr, and various Romanian and European acts. Interactive games, music workshops, and dance sessions will take place in Cartier Coresi and Coresi Shopping Resort, where community activities will also occur.
Artists performing at free-entry jazz concerts include Francesca Tandoi, Rain Sultanov & Hikmat Baba-zada Duo, and Berti Barbera & Sebastian Burneci. The 2025 lineup, shown for reference, includes Lars Kutschke, Attila Herr, Till Sahm, and Padá Szveti.
Concerts at Piatã Sf. Ioan will require tickets or passes. The festival will combine concerts and cultural activities, offering a unique experience for jazz and blues enthusiasts.
