Jay Leno's McLaren F1, a $12 million marvel, embodies the crowning jewel of his extensive auto collection. This legendary comedian and talk show host's love for cars has led him to hoard an impressive mixture of vintage rides, each one boasting a rich history and outstanding engineering.

His infatuation with automobiles started at the tender age of 14, when he spent countless hours working on a 1934 Ford Pickup. Fast forward to his successful career in showbiz, and Leno's car collection has multiplied into an ever-growing museum of motor history.

Sitting in the passenger seat of a 1920 Stutz Bearcat, one could never guess that Jay Leno is a famous comedian. With seemingly little concern about safety features or the modern comforts that come with 21st-century vehicles, he revels in the simplicity and charm of these historical relics.

Jay Leno's reception to the old-school, unrefined automobiles was as captivating as his knack for making people laugh on screen. "Back then", he joked, "they preferred to leave the cars behind."

Accompanying him on a journey through his sprawling garage and onto the California highways, the classic cars still held their charm. The absence of modern features like seatbelts only added to the enchanting experience of cruising through time, even as the whirring Panda suggested otherwise.

Speaking of which, the thought of the potential risks did cross Leno's mind – but he shrugged them off. "The best way to drive a car", He jested, "is as if it had no brakes! I prefer technology for crash prevention."

Although Leno has a deep affection for his garage full of automobiles worth millions, he prides himself on purposefully avoiding sentimentality. Each purchase is chosen based on its potential value as an investment.

Like most of his prized possessions, the McLaren F1 wasn't an initial purchase. After paying $800,000, the iconic vehicle's worth skyrocketed to $12 million. Insurance came second to sentiments, as Leno gave a reassuring comment: "Insurance isn't as pricey as one might think."

Part of the charm that draws Jay Leno to motor racing lies in the unique stories that each classic vehicle carries. One such twisting tale involved a 1967 Chrysler Imperial purchased from an elderly Hollywood producer and his eccentric actress wife.

"It didn't matter if I had too much of it", Leno shared. "A few years later, they opened another workshop that provided spare parts in case of an accident. That's the story – it's fantastic!"

Unlike the sentimental former owner, Leno treats his cars with utmost care. A restored Panda, for instance, had never seen rain, ensuring it remained rust-free throughout its life.

As they returned to the garage, surrounded by the sweet symphony of engine hums, Leno admitted to loving his collection more than the money.

"What's the point of selling it? I'd just end up with a bunch of green bags – but what can I do with them?"

Chuckling through the comment, it became clear that Leno finds more joy in building and restoring magnificent automobiles than it does in collecting money.

Nostalgia and speed: Despite spending so much time in the bright lights of Hollywood, Leno preferred the simplicity and power of old-school racing cars.

"In the Showbiz industry, it's easy to earn money. My passion for cars keeps me grounded – I may be a comedian, but my love for motorsports reminds me of my roots."
