Jason Momoa expresses his feelings about his son's role in a major motion picture
Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, the son of Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet, is set to make his acting debut in a major role within Denis Villeneuve’s Dune film trilogy. In "Dune: Part Three," Nakoa-Wolf plays Leto II Atreides, the son of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), and twin brother of Ghanima.
This role marks a significant step for Nakoa-Wolf, who has been passionate about acting since participating in school plays in Topanga. His talent was recognized by Cale Boyter, a producer on the Dune films, who suggested that he should be cast in pictures.
Jason Momoa, who played Duncan Idaho in the first Dune film and returns in Part Three, expressed immense pride in his son's performance. He shared that director Denis Villeneuve also holds a high opinion of Nakoa-Wolf's work.
However, the journey was not without challenges. Jason Momoa expressed concern about the demanding rehearsals for fight scenes in the film. Nevertheless, Nakoa-Wolf, who has been trained in martial arts, rose to the occasion.
Amidst this busy schedule, which included the premiere of "Chief of War" on the 18th and his daughter's birthday on the 20th, Nakoa-Wolf worked alongside Zendaya in "Dune: Part Three."
Jason Momoa, reflecting on his son's debut, described making movies at his level as "not digging ditches," but still "very hard." Despite the challenges, he is excited about Nakoa-Wolf's debut in the upcoming "Dune: Part Three," set to be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
