Jammin' Jared: The Whispers of Questionable Conduct
Wheels are turning in Hollywood's gossip mill as multiple women accuse Jared Leto of grooming them with inappropriate conduct. The 53-year-old actor finds himself under the glare of the spotlight, with allegations from young ladies who claim he exploited his influence.
In an unveiling article by Air Mail published over the weekend, a whole roster of accusers shared their tales of Leto's alleged misbehavior with women, some of whom were even minor.
"He's been a secretive playboy for a while," an anonymous woman confided in the outlet.
Model Laura La Rue shared her saga, having first crossed paths with Leto in 2008 at the tender age of 16, while he was 36. La Rue asserted that despite her youth, which she claims Leto was well aware of, he sought her number and steered the conversation in a risqué direction. To add to her claim, she described an encounter at his residence when she was 17, suggesting he casually strutted out of the room, waving his privates about as if that was the norm.
Leto's reps flatly denied the exposure's claims, maintaining that their exchanges involved nothing remotely sexy or out of bounds. What's more, they argued that La Rue later put in an application to become Leto's personal assistant, which, they said, points to an innocuous friendship.
Another accuser vividly recalled her first encounter with Leto underage. She provided a glimpse of a time after her 18th birthday, when they spent some alone time at his residence. According to her, the actor suddenly whipped out his tool and started wanking himself off, grabbing her hand to guide it along, too.
The article, dubbed "Leto's Cult," is a treasure trove of similar accusations against the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman. The women portray him as a predator who preyed on doe-eyed, tender teenagers, many of whom were lured to his parties in the mid-2000s.
Leto's camp came forward to refute all the accusations in the report.
The piece hit the press less than two months after Allie Teilz, a DJ and music producer, revived a 2012 claim of being "raped and traumatized" by Leto when she was 17. "He was aware of my age and didn’t care," she declared.
Teilz's revelation sparked a wave of similar messages from women who talked about their own interactions with Leto, some as young as 14. Teilz subsequently re-posted those messages, all of which can be found in her Story Highlight.
At the time of publication, Leto's reps had yet to respond to Daily News' inquiry.
