Japan’s whisky scene heats up with rare Chichibu, Nikka, and Suntory releases

Whisky enthusiasts can rejoice as several exciting new releases hit the market this month. From Japan, we see the first single malt from Chichibu's second site, a 10-year-old from Nikka, and a new addition to Ichiro's Malt Chichibu London Edition series. Limited editions from Suntory and custom artwork collaborations also make an appearance.

Kicking off the Japanese news is Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Distillery II (Inaugural Release), the first single malt from Chichibu's second site. Matured for four or five years, this whisky is priced at $200. Nikka's Sendai-based distillery offers the Miyagikyo 10 Year Old, with 18,000 bottles available worldwide. The eighth release in Ichiro's Malt Chichibu London Edition series, the 2025 edition, is priced at $280.
