Jango Baie emerges as 10/3 Gold Cup favourite for Cheltenham Festival

Jango Baie is now the 10/3 favourite to win the Gold Cup at this year's Cheltenham Festival. The race, set for day four, stands as Britain's most prestigious National Hunt event. Bookmakers have also slashed his odds for a top-three finish to 2/1, up from EVS.

Trained by Nicky Henderson, the nine-year-old has shown strong form since his debut in February 2023. In 12 races, he has finished outside the top three just once. His record includes a victory in the 2023 Arkle, another key race at the festival.

This will be his first attempt at the Gold Cup, which offers the highest prize money of any non-handicap chase in Britain. Despite his inexperience in the event, bookmakers clearly rate his chances highly. Boyle Sports now prices him at 2/1 to secure a podium place, a significant shift from his earlier even-money odds. His consistency and past festival success have made him a standout contender for the sport's biggest prize.

The Gold Cup remains the highlight of Cheltenham's final day, drawing attention from across the racing world. Jango Baie's strong odds reflect his recent performances and festival pedigree. His result could shape the outcome of this year's most valuable chase.
