Jamming with Meyer Sound in Garcia's Band Session
In the heart of Chicago, a brand-new restaurant and live music venue named Garcia's Chicago, powered by Dayglo Presents, busted onto the scene. This secular monument, patterned after the everlasting spirit of Jerry Garcia, sought the expertise of the unrivaled Masque Sound for their sound system integration. Hailing from a decade-long collaborative history with Masque Sound, Dayglo Presents recruited their partners to transform their audacious vision into a reality.
Jesse Lauter, the head honcho of production and media at Dayglo Presents, solidified the alliance and has shared the stage with Masque Sound on numerous occasions. But this project was a union that surpassed even his wildest expectations.
"I've got this enviable connection with Matt Peskie and the Masque Sound crew," Lauter raved. "These folks are the best in the industry, a breeze to work with, and flexible as hell. Anthony Nittoli—the new dude at Masque Sound—is my ideal go-to for blueprints and ideas. So, having a treasure trove of talent all under one roof was a dream come true. And let me tell ya, Masque was the right fit for Garcia's Chicago."
As with any creative endeavor, the project faced its fair share of hurdles, including being hemmed in by pre-determined booth locations that weren't exactly picture-perfect. Yet, with the swift collaboration between Meyer Sound and Masque Sound's own Anthony Nittoli, they turned a seemingly insurmountable obstacle into an opportunity to craft one of the best-sounding clubs on the planet—according to old Lauter himself.
The magical symphony of notes at Garcia's Chicago was orchestrated with Masque Sound's full systems integration, which boasted a powerful Meyer Sound loudspeaker system. This mind-bending spectacle included seven Ultra X-40s, seven Ultra X-20s, two 900-LFC subwoofers, one 750-LFC subwoofer, and six MJF-208 stage monitors, all paying homage to the legendary Grateful Dead and their captivating sound journeys.
The mashup concluded with a Yamaha DM7C-EX digital console, joined by Rio 3224-D2 and Rio 1608-D2 stage boxes. These dynamic duos were handpicked for their petite dimensions and awe-inspiring prowess. A mixed bag of Shure, Audix, and Sennheiser microphones, accompanied by K&M stands, dedicated their talents to satisfying the venue's input needs. To capture the visual beauty unfolding on stage, the venue was equipped with five PTZ Optics 4K HD cameras, capable of fluid content creation and livestream opportunities.
"We couldn't be happier with Masque Sound's involvement throughout Garcia's Chicago's grand opening," Lauter chimed. "The system they designed was a marvel, and there weren't any complaints or hassles during launch week. It was a flawless debut."
Lauter didn't hesitate to praise the efforts of the legendary Peter Shapiro of Dayglo Presents, in addition to Kim Kozak, the production manager, who both played pivotal roles in realizing the dream that is Garcia's Chicago.
"Garcia's Chicago looks and sounds phenomenal," Anthony Nittoli from Masque Sound cheered. "This project was nothing short of epic, working alongside an uber-talented crew, and I couldn't be more thrilled. The excitement radiating off everyone during the opening week was palpable, and Garcia's Chicago now stands as a testament to outstanding collaboration, musical heritage, and technical brilliance—ushering in a new chapter of live music in the Windy City."
Garcia's Chicago, through its partnership with Masque Sound, not only offers a unique dining experience but also features a top-tier entertainment space, with the live music venue providing an exceptional audio experience that rivals some of the best clubs on the planet. The music system at Garcia's Chicago, expertly designed by Masque Sound, showcases a powerful Meyer Sound loudspeaker system, making it a must-visit destination for music enthusiasts.
