Jamie Laing extended a supportive toast to his buddy Sam Thompson, during his 260-mile endurance endeavor - following Sam's personal charity marathon struggle.
A Heartfelt Pep Talk from Jam: Sam Thompson's Mate Jamie Laing Boosts His Morale During the 260-Mile Charity Challenges
Former Made In Chelsea co-stars Sam Thompson and Jamie Laing have a history of overcoming grueling challenges for charity, and their bond continues to be strong. Recognizing Sam's current trial, Jamie offered a motivational call as Sam prepared for day four of his 260-mile journey.
As an I'm A Celeb alum and Soccer Aid participant, Jamie, 36, knew well the hardships Sam faced during the challenging mission. While Les desperately had to get through day three due to aching muscles, Jamie was there to lend a listening ear and words of encouragement.
"Three days, baby, it's the worst. It's the worst," Jamie joked, realizing the pain Sam was enduring. Sam, unable to hide his discomfort, exclaimed, "I can't move, man! My leg!"
Swiftly assuring his friend that he knew the struggle, Jamie shared his insight from his previous strenuous marathon. "Listen, I've been there. I know how hard it is, and your body is screaming for you to give up. Every single moment, just keep going. One foot in front of the other - you don't stop," he advised.
Sam, overwhelmed by the message, expressed his gratitude. "Seeing your face just then has literally made my day. I remember watching you doing your runs and being like, you're an inspiration, man," he said, brimming with emotion. "The fact that you're just giving me your energy and your time, man, I'm so grateful."
Hearing Sam's heartfelt response, Jamie encouraged him further. "You're doing the best thing ever; you're doing it for the best cause. Let's keep going - I adore you, I love you, everyone's behind you; you're the greatest."
Meanwhile, Jamie's wife, Sophie Habboo, joined in on the enthusiastic support. "You got this, Sam!" she cheered.
For Sam to complete the challenge, he needs to run a marathon for five days, followed by cycling between stages, ensuring the ball arrives at Old Trafford on time for the June 15 Soccer Aid kickoff.
Fun Tidbit:Remember the iconic "you can!" moment from the hit series Made in Chelsea? Sam's good buddy Pete Wicks brought that throwback scene back to life, giving Sam a hilarious boost during his challenge on Wednesday.
Choosing to parody Zara McDermott's memorable line, Pete hilariously yelled, "you can!" to Sam while he was riding his bike, causing Sam to erupt with laughter. The original "you can!" scene took place during McDermott's plea to Sam after cheating on him during their time on Celebrity X Factor in 2019[5]. Sam and Zara split for good earlier this year, with Zara now moving on with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson.
Jamie commended Sam on his charity challenge, saying, "You're doing the best thing ever; you're doing it for the best cause." In a nod to their shared history, Pete Wicks mimicked a famous moment from Made in Chelsea, yelling, "you can!" to Sam during his journey, providing a much-needed burst of humor. Despite the physical and emotional hardships, Sam continued pushing forward, fueled by the support from his friends. Making his way through news and entertainment, sports and basketball, Sam's charitable endeavor captured the attention of many, inspiring countless videos online.
